Only candidates working fulltime in a catering establishment can apply for this course

The apprenticeship programme is a two (2) part programme, the first part covers the diploma in professional cook, successful completion of the professional cook diploma allows the candidate to progress to the second part which covers the diploma of professional chef apprenticeship programme.

Time frame of apprenticeship – three and a half years

Proposed candidate’s applications submitted by employer.

Candidate based at employer’s establishment for duration of the apprenticeship.

Theory and practical conducted during block release – a schedule will be available.

Regular site visits and one on one sessions with candidates

Diploma in professional cook, N$100 000.00 per candidate

Diploma in professional chefs, N$120 000.00 per candidate

Course fees include:

  • Learning material/Study guides

  • USB stick will be provided with the Portfolio of evidence (POE)

  • Registration and exam fees, (Rewrites of External Exams at candidates own cost)

  • Provision of Ingredients for Professional Cook and Chef Diplomas and for block release practical’s

  • Breakage fee of N$ 600.00

 

Course fees exclude:

  • Uniforms

  • Knife set

  • Transport to and from academy

  • Accommodation and meals

  • Reassessment fee of N$ 600.00 for practical exam

  • Registration fee for rewrite of exams

  • Access to a good quality electronic device(laptop, table or iPhone with Microsoft word) and own Gmail address per candidate
